Skirtings and Architraves
Mouldings - Softwood Skirtings and Architraves:Usually machined from slow growing Upper-Gulf Fifth PEFC Scandinavian Redwood for a consistantly good quality and density of timber, and an acceptable number of knots;
These products are available usually in 4.2 metre lengths for architraves, and in random lengths - 3.0 to 4.8 metres on the skirting boards.
Architraves are decorative timber trims that are placed internally around a door casing, window, or loft hatch opening; They serve to hide the joint between the wall and the timber frame. Architraves also conceal any subsequent shrinkage in the surrounding materials.
The return corners of the architraves are usually mitred, and when fitted, architraves are usually set back from the edge of the casing by about 4mm; A narrower margin can restrict the knuckle of the hinges, and the striking plate.
PEFC Timber is a natural product - variations in knots, colour and grain should be expected.
Softwood Mouldings can not be recommended for use externally without suitable treatment;
Sizes are the usual timber nominal size that the timber moulding is machined from, with a finished size that is generally obtained;
(Be aware: For a multitude of reasons, size and profile of timber may vary from batch to batch, so it is best to purchase all you need for a job in one go, rather than buying more at a later date. If it is important, then you need to check these sizes and profiles before commencing work. We cannot be held responsible for any variations in machined timber sizes or pattern.)
Price is generally per running metre or per length - we can price larger quantities and pack lots per cubic metre.

CARRIER DELIVERY of Skirtings and Architraves is possible from £9.60 +vat - up to 10Kg/2.4M., then 50p per Kg;
2.4 to 3.0 M. + £15+vat! Anything longer is not suitable unless in pallet quantities; ( Zone A mainland - poa other zones)
HAULIER DELIVERY by pallet can be arranged for larger quantities of Softwood Timber Skirtings and Architraves.
