Engineered oak sidelight door frame sets come packed loose as 4 door jambs and mullions, a head and a cill and glazing parts.
The timber for sidelight door frames can be either laminated pieces, or an oak type real veneer on an engineered timber core;
They are manufactured in the Far East so generally the timber is a tropical oak -like species.
Sidelight door frame kits are primarily intended for use with XL Joinery sidelights. They can be used as a single sidelight set by cutting off one side. Sidelight door frames would need to be adapted with suitable beading to be directly glazed into the door jambs and mullions.

Treatment for these Door Frames should be as for the guidelines for doors laid out by the British Woodworking Federation: BWF DOOR CARE
XL Door Frames have a copy of the manufacturers instructions included in the packaging.
Check in particular, any fitting tolerances, or wood-stains you wish to use, are within the manufacturers recommendations;
(Waxes, varnishes or water-based woodstains are NOT suitable. There is NO trimming allowance for DOOR FRAME SECTION.)
