| 18mm BLOCKBOARD - Red-Hardwood Faced 2440x1220x18mm sheet; 8x4x3/4" long-grain hardwood veneered; Poplar or other timber block core - Chinese or Far-Eastern; This is an internal board. Standard Blockboard is PAINT-GRADE, because there may be small amounts of filler used; In general the quality is good enough to be able to stain-finish most pieces of Blockboard after you have prepared and sanded them for decoration; Cut to size Blockboard is available as a Special Order - CUT SIZE BLOCKBOARD Hardwood is a natural material and so appearance will vary from board to board - Expect variation in knots, colour and grain.. Generally the face grade quality is B/BB or B/C on our standard Hardwood-Faced Blockboard; A/B face quality on the Oak and Ash Veneered Blockboards - see : BLOCKBOARD RANGE Most blockboards are manufactured using an MR (moisture-resistant) glueline; This doesn't always mean that they will be unaffected by dampness, as it is quite possible for movement in the timber itself.
