Stairs - Closed Tread
Staircases - Closed Tread :We make staircases in our own workshop, and can manufacture to your measurements;
Options available include newel-posts, bull-nose steps and kite-winders, if required.
They can be made in a choice of timbers including Sapele-hardwood and Oak.
Treads can be made from MDF if required, and risers can be made from plywood.
Strings are trenched, sanded, glued for Treads and Risers, then assembled, clamped, wedged and blocked, for minimum movement in the finished Staircase. All treads, risers, wedges and blocks are glued with an exterior-grade PVA Adhesive.
Standard Stock Stairs:
- Domestic specification: 42 degree pitch, 13rise, 2600mm floor to floor height.
Made to size:
- Domestic - maximum 42 degrees pitch - treads 220mm minimum - rise 220mm maximum;
- Commercial - maximum 38 degrees pitch - treads 250mm minimum - rise 180 or 170mm maximum;
Local delivery available for most items, poa for haulier delivery.

CARRIER DELIVERY of a Timber Staircase is expensive due to the weight, and not available for items longer than 3.0 Metres;
HAULIER DELIVERY by pallet is possible for Timber Stairs and for items longer than 3.0 Metres;
