Key FD30 Information:
- Use Therm-a-Seal 20x4mm intumescent strip, or Therm-a-Stop smokeseal strip on the centre of the door frame, or door edge, on the head and sides.
- Meeting stiles on pairs to be square only, not rebated. Use one Therm-a-Seal 20x4mm intumescent strip, or Therm-a-Stop smokeseal strip, fitted centrally on one meeting door stile only
- In single leaf situations, neither hinges nor latches/locks need to be bedded in intumescent seal. In pair situations the latches/locks need to be bedded on 1mm Therm-a-Strip G30 or Interdens intumescent seal.
- Minimum timber frame size is 70x32mm with minimum 12mm rebate stop.
- Maximum size reduction for fitting is 3mm off any edge.
- Glass apertures:
maximum GO area 0.4m2
maximum GO dimension 680mm
minimum margin from edge - 150mm
minimum distance between two openiings is 150mm

Check in particular, any fitting tolerances, or wood-stains you wish to use, are within the manufacturer's recommendations;
(Waxes, oils, varnishes or water-based woodstains are NOT suitable. Maximum size reduction on fitting is 2 - 3mm per edge for JBK Canterbury White Fire Doors, but this needs to be confirmed with JB Kind for their guarantee terms. It is often possible to cut more off a door, but this is at your own risk, and may contravene the Fire Certificate.)
